  1. Hi, this is a great plugin.

Is in this plugin any posibility to create auto-register forms (or web
pages) to subscribe a new user directly to a specific group?.

I mean, i want to give to some specific persons a URL where they can
subscribe by themselves and automatically be subscribed to a specific
group (with specific privileges), and give others other URL with a different form wich suscribes them to other different group

Can anybody help me in this issue?

  4. Hi, your User Access Manager – NextGEN Gallery Extension is very helpful, however, if I create a Master album in NextGen Gallery and add some other albums containing galleries, it would still show links with thumbnails to these albums even if I restrict acces to them.
Will you change that in the next version? (I do hope that a new one is coming,or)
    :)

  5. Hi Alex. I love the plugin, but I am having one issue. When someone tries to go to a page but doesn’t have access, the redirect action is not working. it just goes to the page url, but displays “Page not found”. I want it to redirect, but that feature is not working. Any suggestions?

  6. Ok this is an incredibly elementary question as I’m completely new to WordPress. I am designing a blog for a club and they’d like to have access to members only while the general public can still see certain pages. I’m not sure how to get the IP Range of a user under the “add user group” setting. I created one user I am trying to test on before we add all of the real users to the site but where do I find this number? Thanks!

  7. Is there a way to set up users or groups to be activated in a predefined time period ?
Simply , expire users after given date ?

  8. Hallo

Besten Dank!

  10. When logged out, I see the correct things. However, when a user of one group is logged in, the user can see items that should be restricted to another group. Am I missing something?

  11. Hello!!

With this plugin I may control to access only one page?
Now I have create one role to edit_page but only view page :( … what i can do? please.

    Sorry for my bad english.

  12. Hi!

After upgrading to 1.1.4 my Category that have no “open” to all posts are visivle for non logged user. Later it worked fine! What I need to do?

  13. Is it possible to use this plugin to allow access to a specific plugin in your wordpress back office? I have a plugin that I use to build mobile pages for my clients, but wanted to allow them to access this plugin to build their own mobile pages without me.

  14. It’s a very good plugin, thanks !
Just one problem, I use it as designed: to restrict access to some pages/posts.
But the process is as followed:
1- User clicks on the link of a page (let’s say page A)
2- He is not identified, he the land on the login page.
3- Once Logedin, he lands on the wordpress administration page, searching for his way to page A.
4- Coming back, he finally clicks again on the link to page A, and can access to the page.

Is there a way to suprress step 3 and make the user land on Page A as expected ?

  15. Hallo

  16. Hello. The redirect when no access doesn’t work for me. I would like to redirect it to a custom URL (my theme login page) but it doesn’t work. Any ideas why? thank you.

  17. Hi
I installed your plugin on a multisite worpress but I get a constant error to update the DB (in the admin) and my users cannot access to the ‘private’ content. What should I do ?

    Thanks :)

  18. Hallo,

  19. Hi there – just trying to delete the plugin and got the following error:

Fatal error: Call to a member function uninstall() on a non-object in /home/lagunaba/public_html/wp-content/plugins/user-access-manager/user-access-manager.php on line 285

Could you please point me in the right direction?

    Cheers, Dave

  20. The same problem like Ken Medina
“Hello. The redirect when no access doesn’t work for me. I would like to redirect it to a custom URL (my theme login page) but it doesn’t work. Any ideas why? thank you.”

  21. Hi i have question how to change IP to hostname i mean Computer name it`s is possible & do i may do yhis ?

  22. I am using this plugin to lock a “Leaders” page. If a user is not registered, they see a Gravity form to register. If a user is registered, I’ve disabled the auto access option. The client wants to enable only certain users, so they don’t give access to just anyone.

The problem is, that when they enable a user, there is no option to send a confirmation to the user that they have been approved to view the content and are now able to visit the page. Any ideas how I could accomplish this? The redirect option is not working for me either for a registered user with no access to the “Leaders” group yet. It still goes to the Gravity form that I’ve put in the “Page Settings > Set up the behaviour of locked pages > Page Content”.

Please please help me think of ideas! Thank you, this plugin is great! I want to keep using it.

  23. I posted a query in the forums here.

Basically it appears that recursive locking is a double edge sword. It sets all of the child pages to the same UAM group settings as the parent.

Is there a way to keep the recursive locking but have different set of UAM settings for a child page? That is can a child have only a subset of the parent UAM group assignments?

  24. hi there – i have installed your plugin and its just what im after the only problem i have is that if i disaoow access to a page it still shows in the nav menu, how can i fix this

  25. please disregard my last comment – i found it

  26. Hello, thank you for User Access Manager – very helpful plugin.
I have a question, is there any way to define one User Group as a default for new posts?

  27. Like this plugin very much, thank for it.

I am using Mailpress and when sending the mail via the post using Mailpress the reciever get also the restriction on the mail. The mail includes only the excerpt of the post.

Would it be possible to have a possibility to choose if excerpt is visible or not? Would be also interesting for homepages. Now you can only choose the option More-Tag.

    Thanks in advance.

    Pascal

  29. Do you support this plug-in at all?

I really need to know how to hook into it from a page template to test whether a page is for members or not and display content accordingly.

Anyone here know how to do this?

    Many thanks,

  30. I get the same error as Dave when trying to delete this plugin. It doesn’t allow to edit roles as I thought it did, therefore, I don’t need it, but can’t delete it…

  31. Why can’t I DELETE this plugin!??!?

Call to a member function uninstall() on a non-object in … plugins/user-access-manager/user-access-manager.php on line 285

I hate this! Just had it installed for few minutes and now I can’t get rid of it !??!

  32. your plugin inserted 2 new user groups, and despite deactivating I cannot get of them anymore!

where did you add them? I need them out!

  34. Hi Alex
    Thanks for the plugin.
Can you point me in the direction of some docs for integrating the uam groups into another plugin – according to the readme file there should be some kind of api but I have not been able to find the correct call yet.
    Cheers
    J

  35. Thank you for User Access Manager :-)
One question: If I use weaver-subtheme and switch on the file-look-option, then the layout ist “destroyed”. When I switch off the file-protection – all ist oK. Have you any Idea, what can the reason of this effect?
    Many thanks!

  36. Maybe i misunderstood sth. I have to set some user’s role to –none– in order to get checkable user group checkboxes – otherwise they are greyed and ALL checked. But without a role, this user cant login any longer (not sufficient permissions to access the page)… I try to limit write access to some pages for a user group only..

  37. Sorry, solved, i have to deactivate all roles in the user group definition at first. but a second question: how can i manage that a user sees only pages/posts of his user group in the admin section?

  38. sorry again, “solved”… it already worked but i had forgotten to assign full access page/post to a group.. that’s logical… sorry, my tiredness… you can delete all my posts if you like

  39. Thanks for making this plugin Alex, its makes WordPress an adult cms.

  40. hi,

    Here is

Fatal error: Call to a member function uninstall() on a non-object in /home8/cvmagazi/public_html/wp-content/plugins/user-access-manager/user-access-manager.php on line 285

  41. When a new user is created they are automatically added to all of the user groups – which is not what I want. I don’t see a way on the “add user” page to choose what groups a new user should be assigned to.

When I go into “edit user” the groups that they belong to are there (all are checked), but there isn’t a way to uncheck / remove them from any of the groups.

    Any ideas??

  44. This plugin has two bugs:

    1) It doesn´t allow html code in Message Content
(the one to show to a user with no access)

    2) Redirection doesn´t work
(url to redirect the user if it has no access)

When are you planning to fix this issues?

    Thanks and great plugin!

  45. Redirection works but not for completely hidden pages, which would not makes sense. Why should you hide pages if you show a user that that the page exist by redirecting him? If I’m wrong please correct me. I will check the first bug if I have more space.

  47. I’ve got the same issue as rolo: redirection doesn’t work for me either. It’s a regular (non-hidden) page that I’ve set to be visible only if they’re members.

Right now, it doesn’t redirect, it just gets the “Sorry you have no rights to view this post!” message.
